Since 2006, Lucky Glider Rescue & Sanctuary has taken in and sheltered literally hundreds of small exotics including sugar gliders – many of which are too ill or old to adopt out. Since 2010, years, the operation has expanded to include farm and ranch animals that are abandoned or rounded up from BLM land. Our programs have been effective in providing local educational programs, community outreach and day-to-day care and feeding of unwanted or abused animals.
Our board of directors are the husband and wife team of Edwin and Gail Margulies. Ed and Gail established LGRS over a decade ago in Nevada and have since moved the sanctuary headquarters to the North Hill Country of Central Texas. Here, they operate a full time ranch in which all manner of critters are cared for. This includes horses, donkeys, sheep and goats. The couple are dedicated to animal welfare, community outreach and education.
