Nonprofit status

Lucky Glider Rescue & Sanctuary is a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our EIN (federal tax ID) is 26-1438308. You can check our status with the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search.

Tax deductibility

Donations to Lucky Glider Rescue & Sanctuary are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. No goods or services are provided in exchange for donations, including animal sponsorships. We cannot give tax advice, so please consult your tax advisor about your own situation.

How donations are processed

Online donations, including monthly gifts and animal virtual adoptions, are made through Give Lively. Your payment is handled by Give Lively’s payment processors (Stripe, PayPal or Shift4). We never see your full card or bank details. For how donor information is handled, see our Privacy Policy.

Receipts

After each online donation, Give Lively emails a receipt to the address you entered. Please keep it for your tax records. You can also find past receipts in the Give Lively User Portal.

The IRS requires a written acknowledgment from the charity for any single gift of $250 or more (IRS guidance). If you need an acknowledgment or a duplicate receipt, email donations@luckyglider.org.

Animal sponsorships (virtual adoption)

Sponsoring, or virtually adopting, one of our animals means making a monthly donation of any amount through that animal’s Give Lively page. Sponsorship donations go only to the care of that specific animal, and sponsors receive personal updates on their animal. A virtual adoption is a donation to Lucky Glider Rescue & Sanctuary. No goods or services are provided in exchange, and it does not transfer ownership or custody of the animal.

Changing or cancelling a recurring gift

To change, pause or cancel a monthly donation, sign in to the Give Lively User Portal and open “Recurring Donations”. You can also email donations@luckyglider.org and we will help.

Donations are non-refundable

All donations, including animal sponsorships, are final and non-refundable. If you believe a charge was made in error, such as a duplicate charge, please email donations@luckyglider.org or call (877) 504-5145 and we will review it. Please include:

• your name
• the date and amount of the charge
• the email address you used
