Pretty doe “Mandy” takes a long, cool drink. She’s a Nubian mix – one of four offspring of doe “Maria.” Mandy is the sergeant in arms of Mr. Bossy himself – Rufus. They like to push the smaller goats around some.
The goats (and sheep) will take turns at the stock tank after eating. Unlike donkeys, who can drink 15 gallons of water each day, goats usually don’t drink more than a half-gallon or so. We put ammonium chloride in their water to fight off urinary calculi for the wethers. They don’t seem to care as you can see.
