Hawk Switches Barns

Our friendly neighborhood hawk moved from the hangar barn over to the new “BarnDominium” recently. He’ll not have much better luck there with the other chicken flock. They too, are housed and the only way they’ll be hawk bait is for the raptor to squeeze through the louvered slats we use for ventilation. So far, the only other kind of bird getting through there are sparrows (who love to steal the chickens’ feed).

So this young hawk was sitting up in the rafters of the new barn after I came back up from feeding the critters at the hangar. I must have startled it because it flew in circles for a while until it settled down on the fan for a while. It was real hard to keep my iPhone tracking on him because as you will see, it was really fast… Let’s see how long this bird hangs out.
