October 2nd is World Farm Animals Day, a day to both celebrate these adorable animals and to raise awareness about their proper care.
LGRS cares mostly for equines (horses, donkeys) and ruminants (goats, sheep), many of which come to us from farms or ranches. Some of these animals have special needs or require ongoing medical attention. Our sanctuary provides them with the top-notch care they need while also working to educate others. We provide face-to-face workshops on diet, hoof and nail maintenance, and grooming. Efforts on our part to raise awareness include community outreach programs like school presentations, collaboration with other rescues, and tours of our ranch.
