After several days to allow Charmaine the duck hen to get used to her surroundings, we decided to try her with the geese.
At first, we had her sequestered in the new barn chicken nursery with a few bottom-of-the-pecking order chickens.
Luckily, Charmaine’s encounter with the geese was without incident. As you can see from the video, she waddled towards the geese and they did not attack her. In fact the geese seemed more wary than the hen!
You can hear the guinea chirping in the background, as she was very interested in the proceedings. We sat with them for a while and it looks like they will get along fine…
